Digambar Jain Temple Shamanewadi

One of the oldest jain temple in Belgaum district, built in 1950′s. Lord 1008 Shri Chandraprbhu is the original leader (Kn: ಮೂಲ ನಾಯಕ)  statue is in white rajastani stone. All 24 teethankar’a statues also present here which were made from five metal element (ಪಂಚ ಲೋಹ ಧಾತು).

In the year 1952 the punchakalyanak mahotsava happened after that shikhar (temple tomb) is constructed and in 60′s another punchakalyanak orgnised.

Year 1985 : Indra Dhwaja Mahotsava in the presence of Achaarya Ratna shri 108 Deshbhushan Maharaj and Ganadhar Aacharya Shri Kunthusagar Maharaj Sanghs for 10 days.

Year 1994: Shri Shidda Chakra Aaradhana Maha Mahotsava for 10 days.

Year 1999: Shri 1008 Kalpadhrum Maha Mahotsava in the presence of Shri 108 Yuvacharya Gunadharanandiji Maharaj Sangha for 12 days.

Year 2006: Shri Sarvatobhadra Maha Mahotsava in the presence of Shri 108 Yuvacharya Vairagyanandiji Maharaj Sangha for 10 days.

Every year Pallakki utsav happens during Deepawali, Mahaveer Jayanti, Shastra Pooja during Dashalksana Parva. Rathotsava in Dassera (9 days events also happens during dassera).

Temple is constructed in the heart of old Shamanewadi facing towards North, built in black rocks found in this area. Manas Stabha (Stone Pillar) is built on stack of black rocks and at top Chandraprabhu’s statue is stalled which has 4 faces looking towards all directions. Many Jain saints visits here and bless the devotees. Temple also worships Mata Padmavati and Brahma Deva.

A pravachan hall is also constructed here in temple premises named after Swargiya Bharatmati Mataji, temple also had a big function hall named Yuvacharya Shri Gunadharnadi Mangal Karyalaya – Kalpadruma Bhavan.
